John Skelton, once again, will be considered for release from prison while his sons remain missing. Skelton, 49, of Morenci, was convicted on three counts of unlawful imprisonment…in connection with the disappearance of his three sons, Andrew, Alexander and Tanner, on Nov. 26, 2010. He was sentenced in 2011 to a maximum 15 years imprisonment at the Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in northern Michigan. His first parole hearing was in July 2020 but the request was denied. His next eligibility date was to be in 2022 but on Saturday, Tanya Zuvers, the boys’ mother, received notice from the Michigan Department of Corrections stating that instead of the two-year wait, he will be seeing the parole board again this year. Skelton’s hearing has been scheduled for the last week of August. If approved, his release date would be Nov. 29, three days after the 11th anniversary of his sons’ disappearance. Skelton’s cell phone was traced to Holiday City on the morning of the disappearance and police consider the case a homicide investigation, though no remains have been found.
