AquaBounty Technologies’ investment in Pioneer is on the rise, now expected to be as high as $320 million. We reported…AquaBounty is an aquaculture company looking to build an indoor farm in Pioneer…to grow genetically engineered salmon. When the project was first announced in July, the company expected to invest $200 million in a 479,000-square-foot facility. That has now changed. AquaBounty has said it will need to use 3 million gallons of water a day from groundwater aquifers in Pioneer. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources received a Water Withdrawal and Consumptive Use Permit Application on Oct. 6th…AquaBounty was informed the application was incomplete on Oct. 27.
