A countywide levy renewal on the ballot for the Nov. 8 General Election will help support the area’s farmers. The Williams Soil and Water Conservation District is asking for a renewal of their 0.4 mill level. The five-year levy costs only 4 cents per $100 valuation. In order to maintain their level of service, they needed another source funding and eventually decided on the levy, officials say. The levy supports the activities of the conservation district, which helps landowners and farmers with various conservation efforts.
