It’s been a year since Ohio instituted the 9-8-8 suicide and crisis lifeline…and officials say it’s helping more people and making it simpler to get needed help. Gov., DeWine says the toll free hotline puts Ohioans…experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis…in touch with trained call specialists any time of the day. The new state budget provides full funding for the program…totaling $46 million dollars over the next two years. The governor also pointed out steps his administration is taking to provide mental health care to Ohioans, including increasing reimbursements for those services and doubling the number of community help hubs.
