The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana confirms…two tornadoes touch down early Saturday…including one in Defiance County. The weather service confirmed a tornado formed in the Hicksville, which was reported as an EF-1…with peak wind speeds of 90 miles per hour in the general area of Buckskin Road. Several trees were snapped or uprooted, with three barns having minor to major damage…and one home having damage to a roof and pool deck. The service determined the maximum width of the tornado was 100 yards. Outside of the tornado, wind gusts at more than 60 miles per hour were reported in the area of Hicksville. The second tornado reported by the service was in Cass County, Indiana, in the area of Walton. The EF-0 tornado mainly passed through fields, with beans and corn being damaged west of County Road 900 E and north of State Route 218 to near the intersection of County Road 700 S.
