The Wauseon City Council meets in back-to-back sessions to conclude business for 2023. A special meeting was held to consider wages and collective bargaining. Following an executive session, council members voted to amend the Wauseon Fire Department’s collective bargaining agreement to increase wages by 5%, from April 1 through March 30, 2025. The last regular council meeting of the year followed. It was also the last meeting for Council President Scott Stiritz who has served eight years. Mayor Kathy Huner presented him with a plaque and expressed her appreciation, noting that he has “done a great job at serving and listening to the community.” A reception for Stiritz was held following the adjournment of the meeting.
