Bid Accepted

Salenbien Trucking and Excavating is poised to perform a nearly $800,000 dollar waterline replacement project for the city. The Dundee, Michigan-based company had the lowest bid at $797,151 dollars…a full 15% lower than the engineer’s estimate. The Bryan Board of Public Affairs approved a resolution, requesting the Williams County commissioners to award the bid to the Salenbien. The commissioners, with the help of Maumee Valley Planning Organization, bid out the project. They did it…because they awarded BMU $245,000 dollars through a Community Development Block Grant. BMU also received $275,000 through an Ohio Public Works Commission grant. That would leave an estimated $277,151 that BMU will need to fund for the project. In addition, the project will add five fire hydrants and updates to water services. Separately, the board had an executive session to discuss employment and compensation of public employees with no action reported.
