The Williams County commissioners choose new officers for 2024, and also decide to change one of its weekly meeting days. Commissioner Bart Westfall is the new president of the board. They also decide to change their meeting days to Tuesdays and Thursdays. Before, they were on Mondays and Thursdays. The commissioners also approved two permits to work within county or township rights of way. The first permit was applied for by Midwest Energy & Communications for annual utility maintenance, service and tree trimming along electric and fiber broadband service rights of way. There will be various locations for the work throughout the county. The second permit was granted to Frontier Communications for a crew to place a service drop of approximately 275 feet in length in the right of way along Williams County Road H near Stryker. The work will include boring at a depth of 48 inches below ground to serve a customer on the road. The project is expected to take from now to April 5.
