Bryan Municipal Utilities likely will be performing a revenue analysis later this year to determine if rates are adequate. Director of Utilities, Derek Schultz and Operations Manager, Jimmy Dunning provided the Bryan Board of Public Affairs with the 2023 review. Schultz said while the water fund is currently healthy, the last rate increase was in 2021 and added a rate analysis will likely take place sometime later this year. He added the analysis will allow BMU to evaluate whether it has the proper revenue to fund its debt service on previous projects as well as preparing to work on future ones. It will also help BMU create it’s next five-year plan. Projects for this year include main replacements on South Lynn Street and another on Blakeslee Avenue.
