The Williams County Land Bank has some money left over for revitalization, but should be getting more money for that as well as brownfield remediation projects. The land bank was informed by Matt Wagner of Tetra-Tech that in the latest state budget that was passed, the legislature again provided funds for brownfield projects. He pointed out the county has three large projects underway with funding from the last biennium budget, and suggested the land bank start planning for projects for the upcoming funding. Wagner also said there would be the possibility of procuring additional funds through the program if the county has projects costing more than $1 million dollars, as the state budgeted about $175 million for the project overall. However, that additional funding would be provided on a first come, first served basis. Communities will be contacted for officials to start suggesting sites they may have for the program, and there was discussion on potential sites to consider. The county has about $120,000 in funding from the previous round for revitalization projects, and also discussed potential uses for the money as the state is now allowing the county to add additional properties onto that phase. The money needs spent by June of next year.
