The county health department announces it has scheduled a free COVID-19 testing event…in partnership with the Ohio National Guard. It’s similar to one staged in early December. The free testing is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday…at the Gillette Building, on the Williams County Fairgrounds, in Montpelier.

Williams County kicks off the latest portion of the COVID-19 vaccination program. Both the county health department and Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers held individual vaccine clinics for Phase 1B…distributing a very limited supply of vaccine to residents 80 years old and older. The hospital is giving its 300-dose allotment…to those elderly…who have preregistered.

Local Projects Underway

Williams County Commissioners approve engineering agreements for the Kunkle and Alvordton sanitary sewer projects. The Kunkle agreement, for $298,000, includes inspection services during construction. Commissioners also approved $3,500 to include a sewer crossing under the Norfolk Southern Railroad as part of the project. The Alvordton agreement, for $243,000, includes the engineering design for the job.
